The information you see in the view is retrieved from the
database at the moment you opened the view. You and your colleagues
regularly update the information. The view is refreshed when you
make a change, you will then see your changes. However, the changes
made by your colleagues are only shown when you reopen the
view.
To refresh the view and see all changes, made by you and your
colleagues, press F5 from the keyboard or choose
Refresh from the Tools menu.
Use automatic refresh for monitoring incidents or service calls.
For example, you can create a view that shows all service calls in
the database and sort the service calls on the time remaining to
the deadline and on the priority. The service calls in top of the
view are the views that need immediate attention.
To automatically refresh the current view:
Choose Options from the Tools
menu.
Click the General tab.
Select the Automatic Refresh Interval check
box.
In the Automatic Refresh Interval area, type
or select an interval in minutes in the Refresh
Rate box. The minimum refresh interval is one minute.
Click OK.
NOTES:
To turn the automatic refresh off, clear the Automatic
Refresh Interval check box.
The automatic refresh refreshes the current view, there are no
different settings for different views. If you switch views, the
polling rate setting will apply to the newly selected view. This
does include all the views, in the Service Desk Console and in the
Administrator Console.
Refreshing the view takes considerable time from Service Desk.
Even if you work in a form, you will experience some delay of the
application when the view is refreshed. To improve Service Desk's
performance, turn off the automatic refresh.
