Making use of caching functionality

To achieve the quickest response times, Service Desk makes use of cache files on your hard disk. A cache file contains information about the last time you used a part of Service Desk.

For example, using a form. The first time you use the form the information about the form is loaded from the Service Desk server. Depending on traffic on the network at that moment, this may take a few seconds before the form is shown on screen. The information about the form, including changes you make, is loaded into the cache file. The next time you use the same form the form information is loaded from the cache file, which takes less than a second, and shown on screen immediately.

Caching is used for almost everything in Service Desk. To make use of caching in Service Desk, you must try to reuse the forms and views you have already used. It is that easy.
