Setting up the alerting icon and sound

Set up Service Desk so that a flashing icon appears in your Windows tray bar with a sound alerting you that you have new unopened items in Service Desk that need your attention.

To set the flashing icon:

1. From the Tools menu, choose Options.
2. Click the Advanced tab.
3. If you want to see a flashing icon when items are assigned to you, select the Show flashing tray icon when items are assigned to me check box.

To set a sound to notify you:

1. From the Tools menu, choose Options.
2. Click the Advanced tab.
3. Select Provide feedback with sound.
4. Click the Sounds tab and select the InAssignedWork option.
5. Use the Browse button to select a sound you want to associate with the Assigned Work option.
6. Click Apply to immediately apply the changes.
